Yaa Asantewaa Arts and Community Centre (Yaa) provides a platform which initiates, supports and develops cultural and educational arts benefiting diverse communities. It does this through a focused programme of activities including carnival arts, performing arts, youth activities, community events, digital technologies, community development, audiovisual and literature amongst others.  It supports and develops artists and assists them to earn a living through education, practice, performance and the creative industries. With particular regards to Yaa Carnival we actively take part in Notting Hill and other national and international Carnivals each year.

Yaa's home at 1 Chippenham Mews W9 2AN has recently been refurbished and, with our partners Carnival Village, we returned to our new home - 'The Yaa Centre' - which will be officially launched in May 2012.

Artistic Volunteering 

Opportunities in Carnival Arts 

 
                                                                          
We currently have a few volunteering opportunities as part of our carnival production team. These include:

Sewing machinist/cutter

Metal work welding technician

Sculptor

Artistic costume illustrator

Textile designer

Costume decorator

A negotiable fee maybe payable for those who have a particular expertise needed for our 2012 production.
